PESHAWAR: The provincial government has started second shift classes in government schools here in Government Huzaifa Aftab Shaheed Higher Secondary School Hayatabad which will be extended phase-wise to the whole province.
At the inaugural ceremony, some 200 students got admission from class 6th to 10th in government higher secondary school, Hayatabad. While speaking on the occasion Ziaullah Bangash said that students, who in day time earn for their families, will now be able to pursue their education. He added that it will also be helpful for those students who could not get admission in the morning shift due to shortage of educational institutions.
Bangash said that teacher for the second shift will be arranged from government schools and the community. The advisor said that the purpose of this program is to provide education to 2.6 children, who are unable to get education in the morning time. He added for the current year education department has set a target to bring 0.8 million children to back to schools in the province.
Bangash said that with the start of second shift classes schools will also be upgraded. However, he added that instead of constructing new schools buildings, the department will rent out buildings for schools.
The adviser announced that on the bases of performance education department will provide the status of model schools to 2 male and 2 female schools in each district. Adding, these schools will have their own boards and the principals will be fully authorized.
The Advisor said that the government is providing complete support to the private schools but the private schools should also respect the writ of the government and avoid charging fees beyond the prescribed volume.
The Advisor also approved renovation and rehabilitation of examination Hall of Govt Huzaifa Aftab Shaheed Higher Secondary School and assured that on the basis of its performance the school would soon get the status of the model school.
