PESHAWAR, 14 December: To provide free healthcare facilities to poor and underprivileged people, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government is going to launch health insurance project.

The project will be formally inaugurated by the chief minister on Tuesday.

According to the project, the poor and deserving families will be given health insurance cards. By showing these cards, they will be provided free of cost medical facilities in certain selected health facilities.

In the first phase of the project, the insurance cards will be distributed among the poor families of Mardan, Malakand, Chitral and Kohat. Later on, the project will be extended to all districts of the province.
