PESHAWAR, 6 October: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has made a six-month special plan to control dengue in the province.

According to Dengue Response Unit, the plan will commence this month and will continue till march this year. It said steps will be taken to control dengue in the affected areas in the first phase, while steps will be taken to prevent the spread of the disease again next year in the second phase. It said anti-dengue measures will be more effective in winter.

Meanwhile, another patient died of dengue fever in Peshawar on Thursday after which death toll from the disease has mounted to 44 in KP.

The Health Department said more than 12,000 people have been affected from dengue in KP so far. It said over 400 dengue patients are receiving treatment at different government hospitals.
