PESHAWAR, November 25: The government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has presented a bill in the provincial assembly to separate technical and vocational training institutes from the industries department and to set up another department for it.

As mentioned in the bill, the Technical Education and Vocational Training Authority (TEVTA) would alienate its property and employees from industries department and would take possible measures to contribute to the field of vocational education.

The staff that had come on provisional basis to TEVTA would be transferred back to their respective departments.
On the other hand, workers from the institutes of technical and vocational training have opposed the decision taken by the provincial government and said they had not been consulted on the issue. The employees have protested the decision recently.
