PESHAWAR: The provincial government has taken notice of water scarcity in district Tank and asked the district administration to submit a report on the issue.

The notice was taken after district residents staged a sit-in here at Peshawar who also met with Health Minister Shah Farman.

They alleged that the district government has approved 19 tube-wells for the district but some officials were not allowing the contractors to start work on it for the latters were not ready to pay kickbacks.

The health minister directed the officials concerned to issue work order on construction of tube wells and said he would monitor the work on it. he assured the protesters to call off their strike as their problem would be resolved.

Chief Secretary Azam Khan also takes notice of the issue and asked the district administration to submit a report within 24 hours.
