Peshawar's beautification

PESHAWAR: The Provincial Minister for Local Government, Elections and Rural development Sharam Khan Tarakai has said that Peshawar City is regaining its beauty after the completion of civil work on BRT project.

The minister added that Flowers and plants are being planted again on its original places which will enhance the beauty of the city, Sharam Khan said in a video message. Video shows the main roads with green belts where new plants, flowers and grass have been restored.

“We are playing our role in clean and green Pakistan movement according to the vision of party chairman Imran Khan. He said hundreds of thousands of plants and flowers are planted in Peshawar which will restore its old status of the city of flowers, Sharam said.

The provincial minister vowed this move will be kept continued in future. He also requested the residents of Peshawar City to own these plants and flowers and make sure their safety. “It is the responsibility of residents that they keep their City clean and green by not letting anyone harm these plants and flowers”, he said.

Tarakai said Peshawar City is the prime focus of provincial government and we are committed to make it clean, green and prosperous. He appreciated the efforts of PDA in restoring the beauty of Peshawar City.

Chief Secretary Expresses concern on slow pace of work on Gorkin Power project

PESHAWAR: Chief Secretary Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Mohammad Saleem Khan on Monday expressed concern over the slow pace of work on 84 Mega Watt Gorkin Mataltan Hydro Power Project in district Swat.

The Chief Secretary has directed timely and quality completion of the project.

For removing hardships in the land acquisition for the project, he has decided to send Secretary Energy and Power headed a team to the site after Eidul Fitr. The delegation will hold negotiations with the locals under the guidance of the Deputy Commissioner (DC) Swat to complete work on the project as soon as possible.

The Chief Secretary was presiding over regarding hurdles in the acquisition of land for the 84MW hydel power project that is constructed by the KP government through its own resources.
