PESHAWAR, 30 April: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has approved a bill to give protection to whistleblowers to end corruption and mismanagement in the government departments and development projects.

The purpose behind passing the law is to curb the culture of corruption and commission in the province. Decision to this effect was taken at a meeting of the KP cabinet yesterday.

Provincial Information Minister Mushtaq Ghani said that under this law documents would be sought from any government department in case of complaint of corruption or injustice with anyone. The minister said the whistleblowers will get legal protection and financial reward as well.

On the occasion, he also approved installation of solar panels in schools.
