PESHAWAR, August 29: The government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has vacated up to 200 schools that were housing internally displaced persons (IDPs) in Bannu, Karak, and Lakki Marwat districts.

Provincial Secretary for Education Mr Afzal Khan said that teachers displaced from the tribal region would be appointed in the schools and that the IDPs’ children would be provided free education in schools on temporary basis. He also said the displaced schoolchildren would be given admissions without production of certificates.

He added that another 700 schools would be vacated soon and these institutions would be functional from by 1 September as the summer holidays end in the province.
