PESHAWAR, 26 October: After arrest of a fake doctor in Hayatabad Medical Complex (HMC) Peshawar, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Health Department has decided to scrutinise the credentials of doctors and other staff at all the government hospitals.

The Health Department said the scrutiny of PMDC (Pakistan Medical and Dental Council) cards of the doctors is underway as first step. It said the registration of paramedics will be verified from the medical faculty and registration cards of nurses will be verified from the Pakistan Nursing Council in the next steps. The Health Department has sent communiques to all the district health officers in this regard and sought details within 20 days.

A fake doctor, Qudratullah befooled the administration of HMC for three months and not only conducted medical check-up of visiting patients, but also opened a private clinic. He was arrested few days ago.
