PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has emerged as province with most number of polling stations declared sensitive by the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP).

According to media reports, a total of 85,307 polling stations have been established for the upcoming general elections. The electoral body has declared 20,789 polling stations for the July 25 elections as sensitive. Out of these sensitive polling stations, 7,386 sensitive stations are located in KP, 5,776 in Sindh, 5,686 in Punjab and 1,768 in Balochistan.

The reports said 173 polling stations out of total 360 stations have also been declared as sensitive in Islamabad.

The Election Commission has already decided to deputy the Army personnel along with police on the sensitive polling stations. CCTV cameras will also be installed in such stations to keep an eye on these stations.

The ECP data shows that KP has a total of 12,634 polling stations, Balochistan has 4,420, Punjab 47,813 and Sindh has 17,747 stations.
