KP Revenue Minister Ali Amin Gandapur waves to supporters after release from jail. - INP

DERA ISMAIL KHAN, 4 June: A local court in Dera Ismail Khan has released Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Revenue Minister Ali Amin Gandapur from jail on bail.

Mr Gandapur was presented in the court yesterday after his one-day remand. The court imposed fine of Rs89,000 on the provincial minister and released him on bail.

He was arrested by police over the charges of snatching ballot boxes and torturing the polling staff during the 30 May local bodies polls in KP.

On the other hand, Chief Minister Pervaiz Khattak said Mr Gandapur will be removed from the provincial cabinet if rigging allegations were proved against him.
