JAMRUD, August 2: Kukikhel tribesmen of Khyber Agency have banned motorcycle riding and also decided to fell roadside trees in order to guard their area against anti-social elements.

On 1 August, a Jirga of all tribal elders was held at the tehsil office where the motorcycle riding was banned and it was decided to chop trees in sensitive areas like Ghundi village.

The Kukikhel elders told the Jirga that they discussed with the administration the issues of peace, halt to migration of people from the area, relaxation in curfew, etc while the administration assured full cooperation in this regard.

The tribal elders told local residents that people must not leave the area and those who have left, must come back home.
