KARACHI: Counsel of Muhammad Khan Mehsud in Naqibullah murder case boycotted court proceeding after the Anti Terrorism Court judge refused to stop hearing in the case.

Naqibullah Mehsud family has expressed no confidence in the ATC due to ‘undue favour to prime suspect Rao Anwar’ and continuous negligence of petitioner’s applications.

Counsel Salahuddin Panhor, representing Naqib’s father, urged the ATC to stop hearing of the case as the petitioner has filed an application at Sindh High Court for transfer of the case to another court.

He said the petitioner has no confidence in the ATC and urged it to halt hearing of the case till SHC decision on their applications. However, the court rejected Salahuddin’s plea on which the latter boycotted court proceeding.

The court is likely to decide Rao Anwar applications on July 20. Two cases were registered against Rao Anwar and co-suspects in the case including murder and kidnapping while second case if possession of illegal weapons and explosives. Rao Anwar has given bail in murder case.
