PESHAWAR, 22 May: After being declared as most sensitive district, the Peshawar police held a high-level meeting to discuss security measures for the upcoming local government (LG) elections set for 30th May.

The meeting was headed by Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Inspector General of Police (IGP) Nasir Khan Durrani. The IGP instructed the district police officers to set up a security zone outside every polling station. No irrelevant person or vehicle would be allowed to enter around 100-200 yards area of a polling station.

The IGP also issued the directives that no policeman would be allowed to open fire in any untoward situation without the permission of station house officer of deputy superintendent of police concerned. Leaves of the district police personnel have also been cancelled.
