MARDAN, 27 May: Pakistan Tehrik-i-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan has said that the local government (LG) elections in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa would help devolve power to the grassroots level.

Addressing election rallies in Mardan and Nowshera, he called upon the electorate to play their due right in the process of change by casting their vote in favour of PTI.

The PTI chief also targeted the Awami National Party (ANP), saying that they failed to hold local government during their five-year tenure. Vacancies were on sale during the last government, but we have put an end to this menace, he claimed.

He said that over 40,000 people would be elected in the upcoming local government elections, which would translate into action PTI’s dream to devolve power to the grassroots level.
