Listen to our demands or be ready for Bani Gala protest, KP teachers threaten Govt

PESHAWAR: Hundreds of teachers from across the districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa took to the streets to record a protest demonstration to boycott classes if there demands are not met.

A large number of agitated teachers assembled groups in Mardan, Karak, Nowshera, Dir Upper, Dir Lower, Kohat and Mohmand Agency and recorded their protest.

“If the teacher doesnt retract its school based policy and formulated the four-tier formula, we will hold a sit-in in Bani Gala”, lamented the outraged teachers.

The protests were commenced by All Principle and Head Masters Association and All Teacher Grand Alliance and put forward their demands that included withdrawl of school-based policy, time-scale promotion, implementation of four-tier formula, upgradation of management cadre and scale wise professional allowance.

“We have already wasted a lot of time holding protests and the academic sessions are underway and they cannot risk the education of students”, chanted protestors while marching.

They threatened the government to pay heed to them otherwise they will hold a massive sit-in in front of Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf Chairman Imran Khan’s house on the 17th April.

Meanwhile the teachers at Mohmand Agency recorded a protest outside Ghalanai press club where they sought the same demands from the government.

A protest rally headed by president of All Teachers Association Mohmand Agency Marjan Ali marched through the Ghalanai Bazar while they were holding banners and placards in support of their demands.

Another protest took place in Nowshera, Upper Dir, Lower Dir and Kohat districts where a large number of teachers gathered and showed deep concern over their long-neglected demands.

It is pertinent to mention that teachers from across the districts are not satisfied with the current education system and are holding protests in support of their demands for the past many months.
