Malala urges world community to defend Rohingya Muslims in Myanmar

PESHAWAR, 8 September: Nobel Prize winner from Swat Malala Yousafzai has called upon the international community to intervene to defend Rohingya Muslims of Myanmar.

Talking to a news channel of UK, Malala asked Myanmar leader Aung San Suu Kyi to raise voice for Rohingya Muslims in her country. She said tens of thousands of Rohingya Muslims have been displaced from their homes in Myanmar, adding that the international community should not stay silent over the issue. She said it is a grave human rights issue and the world powers should show reaction over it.

She said Rohingya Muslims are being displaced from their homes, they are being subjected to torture and their children deprived of education.
