PESHAWAR: In yet another ‘honour killing’ incident in Buner, a man has allegedly killed her sister-in-law within the jurisdiction of Dagar Police station. Police told the media that they have registered the case into the murder and started further investigation.
The assistant sub-inspector of Dagar police station has registered the case saying Usman, a resident of Hissar Goga village of Tehsil Dager has allegedly killed her sister-in-law over the accusation of having an affair with someone outside their house.
The Dagar police officials told the media that after the crime, policemen have reached the crime spot and collected all evidence. Police added that the dead body has been shifted to Dagar hospital, where after necessary medico-legal proceedings; it was handed over to her heirs.
The police investigators said that one of the main reason behind the increasing ‘honour killings’ is domestic issues. Police added that during the last few weeks, reports of such incident have increased in district Buner.
Before this tragedy, another woman was killed, last Monday.
On May 21, a 19-year-old woman was fatally murdered in Elai area of district Buner. The victim was identified as Sanam, daughter of Muhammad Husain, a resident of Elai Mashwani village. Initially, her brother has said that Sanam has left home for religious seminary, like any other day and the family came to know about her death from Social media.
However, after the police investigation, it was found that her brother was behind the brutal murder. Sanam was gunned down for marrying the marriage of her own choice, which her brother considered as an attack on his honour.
Police have said that on the bases of the hospital report, they have registered the case against her brother and other family members. The police said they been arrested the accused and further investigation is underway to provide him strict punishment from the court of law.
