WANA: A man from South Waziristan tribal district celebrated recovery from coronavirus on Saturday by dancing in an open ground the video of which went viral on the social media.

A patient from South Waziristan was kept in quarantine in the District Headquarters Hospital. He adopted all the precautionary measures and spent his time in the quarantine and recovered in time. After completing the quarantine, his test was taken again which came back as positive.

Celebrating his recovery, Masoom Khan performed local dance and made its video which went viral on the social media.

Doctors say social distancing is the only solution to prevent the spread of coronavirus.

According to National Command and Operation Centre, so far 2,866 patients of coronavirus have been recovered in the country. In KP, 485 people have recovered from the disease.

Afghan refugee dies of coronavirus in Lower Dir

An Afghan refugee died of coronavirus in Lower Dir on Saturday after which the number of people who have died from coronavirus in the district has reached to six.

The tests of 391 suspected patients have been undertaken in Lower Dir and 272 of them have come back as negative. As many as 21 other patients have recovered from the disease.

Deputy District Health Officer and Focal Person Dr Irshad Ali Roghani said the Afghan refugee Muhammad Shakoor, who was a resident of Afghan Refugees Camp No. 2 in Lower Dir, died in Khyber Teaching Hospital Peshawar. He was 80 years old.

The body of the deceased by brought to Lower Dir under the government standard operating procedures (SOPs) and laid to rest by the district administration.

The district administration said the samples of 23 people who came in contact with the deceased have been sent for laboratory tests. The results of seven people in Lal Qala quarantine centre have been arrived all of which are negative.

Dr Irshad Ali said the number of suspected coronavirus patients in Lower Dir is 391 in which 272 have come back as negative and 43 have come back as positive. He said the results of 77 other suspected patients are awaited. He said 21 coronavirus patients have recovered in the district so far.
