DI KHAN: Chief Minister in a meeting with elders of Mehsud Tribe assured all-out efforts to address their grievances. After the assurance, the Mehsud Tribe delegation led by Dost Muhammad Khan Mehsud has announced to participate in the rally of Prime Minister Imran Khan in South Waziristan on April 24.
Elders including Dilawar Mehsud, Ismail Khan Mehsud, Gulab Khan Mehsud and Abdul Razaq were also the part of the meeting held in DI Khan on Tuesday. The tribal delegation announced that the CM has assured the compensation amount will soon by the provided to all the war victim families.
The delegation was assured that after the Eid, the Prime Minister will visit the Mehsud tribal area and will announce special developmental package. Mehsud tribe elders announced that they will meet the premier in Spin Kai Raghzai on April 24, and will appraise him about the issues faced by them.
Elders from the Mehsud Tribe appraised the Chief Minister on their concerns including widespread public apprehensions regarding the recent Census, corruption in Development Schemes and concerns on the ongoing survey for damage assessment. The Chief Minister was informed that Mehsud Tribe has suffered the most during the militancy which has left their businesses destroyed, families displaced, educational institutions razed, hospitals incapacitated and homes in wreckages.
The elders informed the Chief Minister that development plans should be finalized on war footings keeping in view the public aspirations adding that all development schemes to be undertaken in the Mehsud Belt should be finalized with the consensus of locals.
The Chief Minister assured that the development schemes in the Mehsud Belt will be finalized in consultations with the locals. The Chief Minister further directed the concerned officials to take pragmatic steps to materialize the establishment education City through development funds for which land has already been dedicated by the Mehsud Tribe.
While addressing the elders, the Chief Minister assured that sincere measures will be undertaken in the near future to increase the number of Provincial Assembly seats for the newly merged districts in addition to repeating the census to get a proper estimate of the Mehsud tribe.
