PESHAWAR, 13 August: A military court has awarded death sentence to six militants involved in attack on the Army Public School and College in Peshawar.

Director General Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) Major General Asim Bajwa said on Thursday that a militant involved in a gun attack in Safoora area of Karachi has also been awarded death sentence. Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Raheel Sharif has also approved death sentences of these militants. A militant has also got life imprisonment in Safoora attack case.

The ISPR said all the convicts have been given right to appeal in the Military Court of Appeals.

At least 151 people, mostly schoolchildren, were killed in terrorist attack on the Army Public School on 16 December, 2014. The Safoora Chowk, Karachi attack by an improvised explosive device resulted in death of three soldiers and injuries to four.
