GHALLANAI, June 30: Residents of Yakaghund tehsil in Mohmand Agency have complained of hike in prices of food items.
The residents told TNN that the price of pulses increased from 10 to 20 rupees per kg, sugar price hiked from 55 to 60 rupees.
Shopkeepers of Yakaghund bazaar told TNN that they bought the food items from Peshawar and other areas, for which they paid taxes at checkposts and hence the cost increases, ultimately leading to increase in their prices.
A local resident told TNN, “People are suffering a lot. The administration must provide relief to people; they should stabilise the prices. The government should also check the prices by inspecting shops from time to time.”
