PESHAWAR, 16 May: Ousted Egyptian president Muhammad Morsi and five others of the Muslim Brotherhood movement were handed down death sentence by a court in Cairo for jailbreak in 2011.

It merits a mention here that another court has already sentenced Morsi to 20 years imprisonment in jail for subjecting the protestors to violence and putting them behind the bars.

The Egyptian military had toppled the government of Morsi in 2013 after massive protests against his rule. Later the military declared the Muslim Brotherhood movement as proscribed, arresting thousands of its members.
