TANK, 11 December: The municipal serving and ex-employees on Friday staged protest demonstration against the administration over not getting salaries and pensions.
The protesters gathered in front of the deputy commissioner’s office and chanted slogans against the administration. They also blocked the road leading to Waziristan for two hours due to which the commuters faced many difficulties. Class-IV employees’ president Sher Zaman told TNN that they have not received salaries for the last six months due to which they are finding it difficult to keep body and soul together. He said the protest will continue till all the employees get salaries.
A protester said he is very troublesome situation after not getting pension for the last many months. “I have nothing to pay for the fees of my children or even to feed them properly,” he told TNN.
Tehsil Nazim Haibat Khan said two-month salaries of the employees will be released within two days and the remaining salaries will also be paid soon.
