LAKKI MARWAT, July 1: The employees of Municipal Committee of Lakki Marwat staged protest for not being paid their salaries.

The demonstrators told at Kargil Chowk said that the holy month of Ramadan had started but that they did not have sufficient money to buy food items for them as their salaries had been stopped for the last three months.

The protesters warned they would not fulfill their duties till their salaries were not paid. One of the protesters told TNN, “Our salaries were stopped but we didn’t have sufficient money for medication of patients at our homes. We will not work until the salaries are paid to us and the DCO transferred.

The Municipal Officer, Mr Asmatullah Khan, said they had forwarded an application to the secretary of local bodies and that the problem would be solved soon.
