PESHAWAR, April 26: The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has arrested Workers Welfare Board secretary in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Mr Tariq Awan, over allegations of corruption.

According to a statement from NAB, Mr Awan had employed several candidates on basis of nepotism and political references. It added that Mr Awan had also provided scholarships to undeserving people and thus caused millions of rupees loss to the exchequer.

The statement said the allegations against Mr Awan had been proven during investigation.
