PESHAWAR, 06 October: The National Accountability Bureau (NAB), Khyber Pakhtunkhwa chapter has formally filed a reference in the Accountability Court against four accused for running a fake travel agency.
According to NAB press release issued here on Friday, the reference has been filed against Ameer Ahmed Shah, Shahid Hussain, Humayun Khan and Naveed Akhtar, owners of Al-Mustafa Manpower Agency, Charsadda for allegedly cheating public. The accused had allegedly looted Rs33.265 million from as many as 55 individuals.
The NAB reference stated that the accused persons were running a fake travel agency in Charsadda and they lured general public through radio advertisement and collected Rs330,000/- from each pilgrim by offering them private Hajj facility.
When the applicants reached their office at Charsadda for collection of their visa and passports, they found the accused persons disappeared from the scene and deprived dozens of people from their hard earned money.
Taking cognizance of the complaints, NAB Khyber Pakhtunkhwa actively pursued the inquiry and arrested the culprits. The accused persons have already been arrested by NAB and are now in judicial custody.
