ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz supreme leader Nawaz Sharif on Thursday called National Accountability Bureau’s allegations against him were baseless and “shameful” .

Referring to NAB’s probe against him, involving alleged money laundering of $4.9 billion to India, he demanded NAB chief either to provide proof or resign.

Addressing a press conference here, Nawaz said the cases being heard against him by an accountability court were based on unverified media reports, resulting from the Panama Papers leaks.

He said he appeared approximately 70 times in the bogus accountability cases, adding that NAB and its chairman have lost all credibility.

He claimed he was not named in the papers but the joint investigation team made by the Supreme Court could not prove corruption of a “single penny” against him.
