PESHAWAR, 27 April: The death toll from Nepal earthquake climbed to over 3,500 today.
Nepal Home Ministry’s national disaster management division chief Rameshwor Dangal said 4,500 people were injured and still thousands of people have been trapped under the debris. Rescue efforts are on to retrieve them, he said. Seventeen mountaineers have also died on Mount Everest after they were hit by avalanche triggered by the quake. Anumber of countries, including Pakistan, have sent rescue teams and food items to Nepal for the quake affectees.
