PESHAWAR, 3 September: National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) Thursday allowed domestic users to sell solar power to distribution companies.

An official statement issued in Islamabad on Thursday stated that domestic users can sell their daytime extra solar power to the companies and in return they can get electricity in the night. The process regulating the new system has been named as Net Metering System under which new meters would be installed to know about the power consumed and power sold. If a consumer produces more electricity than the consumed power the distribution company concerned would pay him for it and the vice versa, the statement added.
