PESHAWAR, 22 June: Federal Minister for Interior Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan has said that instead of Economic Affairs Division, the affairs of non-governmental organizations (NGOs) would now be monitored by Interior Ministry.

Talking to media-persons in Islamabad today, he revealed that 40 per cent of the NGO working in Pakistan are unregistered. Legislation process for unregistered NGOs is in progress, he said.

The federal minister refuted the media reports about giving permission to Save the Children to work in Pakistan. He said that 60 offices of the Save the Children, including the one in Islamabad, is closed and only 13 offices are allowed to work.
