North Waziristan political alliance seeks fresh census in FATA, merger with KP

BANNU, 19 August: All parties political alliance of North Waziristan Agency has vowed to work jointly for collective benefit of the people of the region.

A meeting in this regard was held at Bannu Press Club on Friday during which the elders demanded education and healthcare facilities and right of freedom of speech for the people of North Waziristan. They also demanded a check on corruption of non-governmental organisations and action against all corrupt elements. They said the tribal areas should be merged with Khyber Pakhtunkhwa without further delay.

“We want merger with KP and accountability of all development projects in Waziristan region. The census exercise was faulty as many people from Waziristan are in Afghanistan and other parts of Pakistan due to prevailing circumstances. Census should be conducted again in tribal areas,” a tribal elder told TNN.

The alliance chairman and Awami National Party (ANP) leader Nisar Ali Khan said despite political differences, all the political parties of Waziristan are united for the rights of people.
