BANNU, November 11: The future of students displaced from North Waziristan and currently enrolled at Bannu Degree-I College seems bleak because few teachers attend classes in second shift.

The students, who were previously studying at colleges of Mir Ali and Miranshah in North Waziristan, say they are now enrolled in second shift of the college in Bannu but that most teachers avoid attending classes and some even advise students to attend private tuition centres.

“The exams are around the corner. Students of most colleges have started revisions, but we have not even started coursework,” stated one of the students.

The college principal, Mr Sultan, told TNN that all the teachers were available in the college from 2pm to 5pm but that students often remained absent. However, he added that they often faced difficulty in attending the college because transport was unavailable and also time is short in evening shift.
