NOWSHERA, 06 July: Residents of Taro Jabba, Nowshera held a protest demonstration against unannounced and prolonged power outages.

The irate protestor attacked Pabbi grid station, setting on fire all the official documents. They also blocked Grand Trunk Road for two hours blocking all kind for vehicular traffic to and from Peshawar. They said that they were subjected to worst power breakdown even at Iftar and Sehr time.

“During the month of Ramazan we are subjected to 18 hours load-shedding. We are vendors and power authorities have sent us 15,000 rupees bill. The voltage of power is too low to run even freezers, refrigerator and fans. It is a hell-like situation [especially] for our children,” one of the protestors said.

Later, the protestors dispersed after the Peshawar Electric Supply Company representatives and police assured them to resolve their problem forthwith.
