MIRANSHAH, 23 November: The political administration of North Waziristan Agency has asked the owners of shops and shopkeepers of Miranshah Bazaar to form committees to devise strategy for distribution of new shops among them.

A Jirga in this regard was headed by Assistant Political Agent Muhammad Anwar Khan on Tuesday. The Jirga was attended by the owners of the damaged shops, shopkeepers and local elders. The assistant political agent said on the occasion that the whole Miranshah Bazaar has been demolished because it was badly damaged in Operation Zarb-e-Azb.

Anwar Khan said the government has initiated work on the repair of the markets and shops in Miranshah Bazaar. He said the owners of shops and shopkeepers have been asked to form committees and submit report with the administration within 15 days for fair distribution of properties.

Some traders have declined to meet with the administration, arguing that they were not taken into confidence over reconstruction of the bazaar.
