PESHAWAR, 23 November: Internally displaced persons of the volatile North Waziristan Agency on Monday started a protest movement against non provision of ration to them. Tribesmen belonging to five sub divisions of NWA which include Razmak, Gariwam, Dosali, Spinwam and Shawa staged a sit-in in front of the Peshawar press club. The protesting tribesmen complained that as many as 2200 registered families of the five subdivisions had not been getting their monthly ration for the last five months due to which they had been facing problems. “Until and unless provision of monthly ration is restored, we will continue our sit-in,” remarked an angry protester while talking to TNN.

“Where are those (politicians) who were holding sit-ins and demanding merger of Fata into KPK? Why they are not holding sit-ins for our rights?” he asked.

He further complained that neither the KP governor nor other officials bothered about them. “All our rations have been plundered by the government functionaries,” he alleged.

On the other hand, an official of the Fata Disaster Management Authority (FDMA) said that these tribesmen have been allowed to go to their homes. “Except five villages of Hasan Khel tribe in Spinwarm subdivision, all other tribesmen have been informed they can return to their homes. People of the remaining five villages will either be given ration or will be told to return to their homes,” the official concluded.
