PESHAWAR, 17 December: Opposition Leader in the National Assembly Syed Khursheed Shah has asked federal Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan to resign after the report of judicial commission on Quetta carnage.

The Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) has also submitted an adjournment motion in the National Assembly in this regard. The opposition leader said the PPP was already demanding implementation of the National Action Plan (NAP). He said the report of the inquiry commission on Quetta carnage has endorsed the viewpoint of the PPP regarding the NAP implementation status.

Mr Shah said it is a matter of great disappointment that the nation is giving countless sacrifices in the war against terrorism, while the government has failed to take effective action against the banned organisations despite spending billions of rupees because of negligence and poor performance of the interior minister.

Meanwhile, Chaudhry Nisar has reportedly started consultations with experts to respond to the inquiry commission’s report.
