PESHAWAR, 06 December: Opposition leader in the National Assembly Syed Khursheed Shah has asked the federal and provincial governments to observe the first anniversary of Army Public School (APS) attack on national level.
In his letter to the Prime Minister and chief ministers of all the four provinces, Khursheed Shah said, “December 16 is the blackest day in the history of Pakistan when merciless terrorists attacked a school in Peshawar and brutally murdered innocent students and their teachers. It is high time to observe the first anniversary of this national tragedy on official level to pay homage to the martyrs.”
Meanwhile, advisor to KP chief minister for information Mushtaq Ghani said the provincial government would officially observe the first anniversary of December 16 tragedy.
In an interview with a foreign news agency Mushtaq Ghani said the provincial government alongwith Pakistan Army would hold different programs throughout the province to pay homage to the martyrs and show solidarity with their families.
On December 16 last, more than 150 peoples were killed including 140 school children in militants’ attack on APS Peshawar.
