BATTAGRAM, 17 August: Over 200 retired military personnel have been hired for the security of engineers working on the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) project in Battagram.

The tests and interviews for the appointment of security staff were conducted at the office of the district police officer (DPO) on Tuesday. Thousands of candidates from different parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa participated in the tests.

Superintendent of Police (SP) Iftikhar Ahmed, who was chairman of the selection committee, told media that the retired personnel have been hired due to shortage of police personnel for security of engineers working on the CPEC project.
