MARDAN, 16 September: Pakistan Atomic Energy Commission (PAEC) has signed an agreement for establishment of a government hospital for free of cost treatment to cancer patients in Mardan.
The PAEC will establish the hospital equipped with modern facilities with the cooperation of Bacha Khan Medical College. A team of PAEC headed by Director Zahid Ali visited Mardan on Friday and signed the agreement with the officials of Bacha Khan Medical College. Under the agreement, the medical college handed over 60 kanals land of the college to the PAEC for construction of the hospital.
Bacha Khan Medical College Dean Professor Dr Muhammad Israr said on the occasion that cancer hospital is a gift for the people of Mardan. He said all treatment facilities will be provided to patients at the hospital.
Vice Principal Dr Jameel said while talking to TNN that construction of the hospital will cost Rs2 billion. He said construction work on the project will be launched soon.
