PESHAWAR, 24 November: A female fighter pilot was killed and her trainer got injured when a Pakistan Air Force (PAF) plane crashed in Kundian area of Mianwali district of Punjab on Tuesday afternoon.
A statement issued by the PAF after the incident said, Flying Officer Marium Mukhtiar and her trainer Squadron Leader Saqib Abbasi were on a training flight in FT-7PG aircraft during which some technical faults developed.
“Both the pilots managed to eject from the aircraft and sustained injuries. They were being provided treatment at a nearby military hospital where Marium Mukhtiar succumbed to injures,” read the statement.
The 24 years old Marium Mukhtiar is Pakistan’s first woman pilot who embraced martyrdom.
