PESHAWAR: Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) has called an emergency meeting of the provincial cabinet to discuss the security situation after the Pakistan and India clash on the line of control on Wednesday.
“In the cabinet meeting, Civil defence, health and issues relating to the preparedness of the security institution to deal with any untoward situation,” said Shaukat Yousafzai, provincial minister for information to media persons. Yousafzai added that the Chief Minister will preside over the cabinet meeting.
The information minister said that all security institutions have been directed to remain alert to face any situation. The KP government has already imposed emergency in all the hospitals of the province to remain ready for a war. The information minister said that there will be one point agenda of the meeting that ‘we don’t want an escalation, we don’t want a war but self-defence is our right.’ He added the country is ready to face any situation.
In a different statement issued by the Chief Minister, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Mahmood Khan on Wednesday said that the Indian government is suffering from war hysteria and such conditions provoke proper treatment. He appreciated that Pakistan armed forces have given a benefiting response to the Indian aggression.
Addressing a gathering at the Qayuum Stadium chief minister said that jihad was obligatory on Muslim. He said that the Pakistani nation stood firm behind the Pakistan army and the Indian government should behave otherwise, the consequences will destroy the whole region. He added that both the national and provincial assemblies have passed a resolution against India.
The Chief Minister said that federal and provincial governments are on the same page standing firmly behind their armed forces at this juncture. He said that Pakistan restraint should not be attributed as its weakness. He said that Pakistan nation would not shy away from any kind of sacrifices in defence of their motherland.
