WANA, November 15: The Pakistan Army has decided to launch anti-polio campaign in Wana subdivision of South Waziristan tribal region on 28 November after two and a half years gap.
In a jirga with the elders of Ahmedzai Wazir tribe, Major General Saleh Hayat said that hundreds of children had been crippled by polio in agency during the last two years.
He added that the polio vaccination campaign would be initiated by the Pakistan Army from 28 November and that the locals were required to cooperate with the forces.
Meanwhile, the elders of the Ahmedzai Wazir tribe have announced that they would fully cooperate with the Pakistan Army in this campaign.
The Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan had banned polio campaign in the region in protest at US drone attacks in the region.
