PESHAWAR, 21 October: Pakistan defeated Sri Lanka in fourth match of the five-match ODI Series in Sharjah on Friday by seven wickets and extended the lead in the series to 4-1.

Sri Lanka decided to bat first after winning the toss and were all out on 177 runs in 44th over. Lahiru Thirimanne was top scorer for Sri Lanka with 62 runs. Hassan Ali took three wickets while Shadab Khan and Imad Wasim got two wickets each.

Pakistan surpassed the target with seven wickets and 11 overs to spare due to brilliant batting of Babar Azam and Shoaib Malik who scored 69 runs each. Babar Azam was declared player of the match.

This was Pakistan’s eighth consecutive win, while Sri Lanka succumbed to their 11th consecutive ODI defeat. The last match of the series will be played in Sharjah on Monday.
