PESHAWAR, 23 October: Pakistan on Monday completed whitewash against Sri Lanka after inflicting a nine-wicket loss on the islanders in the fifth and final One-Day International played at Sharjah Cricket Stadium.
After winning the toss, Sri Lanka elected to bat first but its lineup could stand against the lethal bowling of young pacer Usman Khan Shinwari who took five wickets and conceded just 34 runs in his seven-over spell. The left-arm quick took out half of Sri Lanka’s battling lineup with his first 21 deliveries. The islanders were restricted to mere 103 runs and the whole team was wrapped up in the 27th over.
Pakistan made 105 for the loss of Fakhar Zaman who scored 48 runs to win the final One-Day International in the 21st over of their inning. Imam-ul-Haq remained not out on 45 and Faheem Ashraf scored five runs.
Usman Shinwari was named man-of-the-match for his outstanding bowling performance.
