PESHAWAR, 30 April: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has said Pakistan got a negative response from India on its desire for good relations.

Talking to a foreign news agency yesterday, the prime minister said Pakistan wants good relations with India and other countries of the region. However, he said, Pakistan has not received a positive response from India in this regard so far.

Mr Sharif said India unilaterally suspended the dialogue process with Pakistan and never made any attempt to resume negotiations.

The Composite Dialogue process between Pakistan and India has been on a complete halt since the terrorist attack in Mumbai in 2008. The dialogue process between the two neighbourly countries could not be restored yet.

The Bhartia Janata Party (BJP) came into power in India after the last year’s elections after which Mr Sharif also visited India to attend the oath-taking ceremony of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
