PESHAWAR, 8 July: Pakistan have gained third spot in the International Cricket Council (ICC) Test rankings after securing 2-1 victory against Sri Lanka in the three-match Test series.

According to the new ICC Test rankings, South Africa are holding the top spot, while Australia are placed second. Pakistan after gaining three rating points have been promoted from sixth to third place. New Zealand hold fourth spot, India fifth and England are placed on sixth position. Sri Lanka are ranked seventh after series defeat against Pakistan.

Pakistan now trail second-ranked Australia by 10 points and lead fourth-ranked New Zealand by two points.
