PESHAWAR: Host Australia thrashed Pakistan on Friday by 10 wickets in third T20 match and thus grabbed series trophy with 2-0. The first match was washed away by the rain.
Earlier Australian captain Aeron Finch invited Pakistani counterpart Babar Azam to bat first after winning the toss at Perth stadium.
Aussies contained Pakistani team to 106 runs and chased the target without losing a wicket. They won match on the second last ball of the 12th over. Aeron Finch scored 52 while David Warner made 48 runs and also remained not out.
Pakistan cricket team made four changes in the squad in the wake of first and second match and replaced Fakhar Zaman, Muhammad Irfan, Wahab Riaz and Asif Ali with Imam-ul-Haq, Muhammad Husnain and Khushdil Shah and Muhammad Musa- the two debutants.
In Pakistani innings, only two batsman Iftikhar Ahmad and Imam-ul-Haq entered into double digits by scoring 45 and 14 respectively.
Australian bowler Sean Abbot was awarded man of the match for taking 2 wickets for 14 runs in four overs, while Steve Smith was declared as man of the series. With the defeat, the green shirts also lost first position in T20 ranking where it is replaced by Australia.
Pakistan has lost all of the last five matches as they were earlier whitewashed by the Sri Lankan team in a home series.
