PESHAWAR, 14 November: Adviser to Prime Minister on Foreign Affairs Sartaj Aziz has said Pakistan is prepared to cooperate for resumption of suspended dialogue process between the Afghan government and the Taliban militants.

In a meeting with the United Nations Sectary General’s special envoy for Afghanistan Nicholas Haysom at the Foreign Office in Islamabad on Friday, Sartaj Aziz said Pakistan will make strong efforts for resumption of Afghan dialogue process if the Afghan government desired so. He said Pakistan wants to strengthen bilateral ties and contacts in every department with its neighbouring country.

Mr Aziz hoped that the Heart of Asia Conference to be held in Islamabad next month will prove helpful for peace process in Afghanistan.

Haysom appreciated Pakistan’s efforts for durable peace in Afghanistan.
