PESHAWAR, 12 November: Pakistan defeated England by six wickets in the first one-day international match of the four-match series in Abu Dhabi on Wednesday.
England decided to bat firs after winning the toss and scored 216 runs for the loss of all wickets in the 50th over. Muhammad Irfan got three wickets, while Shoaib Malik and Anwar Ali got two wickets each.
Pakistan surpassed the total in 44th over with the loss of four wickets. Muhammad Hafeez remained unbeaten on 102. He was declared man of the match for his brilliant century.
The next match of the series will be played in Abu Dhabi on Friday.
